Project description

Suzhou Industrial Park Chefang Experimental Primary School has developed a course called "the many values of prickly waterlily" which explores the economic, nutritional, and medicinal values of the prickly waterlily plant. By integrating one of the characteristic local edible water plants into a systematic educational curriculum, the program creates a theoretical framework and promotes the preservation of sustainable cultural heritage. With the support of the Suzhou Industrial Park Education Bureau, the program has also launched an annual Edible Water Plants Food Festival and constructed 70 small "mini-bases" for edible water plants where students can have a firsthand experience growing, cooking, and promoting edible plants.
