Abstract
Puhan New Youth Commune (hereinafter referred to as “Puhan”) was established through a collaboration between the New Youth Commune, which arrived in Qiyan Village in 2015, and the local Puhan Cooperative. With smallholder farmers as core stakeholders, Puhan aims to drive sustainable ecological agriculture development in Qiyan Village through organic production practices. In 2020, through an effective “Three Guarantees and One Risk-Sharing” cooperation model, Puhan managed to help their partner households to achieve a 30%-50% increase in their annual income, establishing a solid foundation of mutual trust. Meanwhile, Puhan has further boosted farmers’ incomes by extending the industrial chain and developing food processing. Additionally, Puhan also actively organizes study camps and other activities in Qiyan village to facilitate the exchange of practical experiences on rural development with returning youth.
