A rice paddy becomes a biodiverse wetland habitat for swans

Project description

Aiming to address food safety issues, Hexiu Farm's founder began practicing ecological rice cultivation 11 years ago. Along the way, he earned the trust of eight swans who came to roost on the farm. By maintaining the rice field's wetland ecosystem, Hexiu Farm have created a favourable  environment for migratory birds while producing healthy food for humans. Now the farm attracts thousands of swans and dozens of species of migratory birds to roost for the winter every year. The project is a vivid example of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
