WET Market
Summary report of the Cambridge Policy Boot Camp on WET Market Reforms

The WET Market Project (Well-being, Ecology, Transformation) aims to make food markets into holistic food system hubs that secure food access, nudge sustainable consumption patterns, support local farmers, boost nature-positive production, and advance equitable livelihoods and value distribution, especially in a post-pandemic world.

In 2020, the Good Food Fund (GFF) and Slow Food Great China (SFGC) convened a WET Market Commission, with 16 experts from various fields worldwide to prepare for a WET Market Guidebook.

In 2021, GFF launched the WET Market Guidebook to introduce the concepts, visons and approaches for a WET Market transformation.

In September 2022, after 1.5 years of preparation, GFF, SLFC, Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Development at the University of Cambridge (UK), and EAT organized a Cambridge Policy Boot Camp (CPBC) to explore solution propositions for reforming wet markets incentivizing dietary shift, with/for Jinbao Farmer’s Market and Nanjing Association of Market of Agricultural Product.

An English summary report of the CPBC is under development and will be uploaded to this page once it is finalized.
